HIGHLIGHTS
Portugal em Mil Milhas 2013 was the 1st classic cars tour in Portugal which passed by the whole country!
We started without hesitation and quickly the fully booked subscriptions gave us the answer: a tour like this was lacking in Portugal!
We started in Lisbon, with a beautiful departure close to the Tagus river, headed south and passed the 25 de Abril bridge. We drove through the Arrábida “mountain, peeked at the sea in São Torpes and were delighted with the grilled fish in Vila Nova. From there we went down to Lagos, passing the Portimão race track to warm up the engines! We went up to Marvão and took a beautiful photo in Monsaraz, where some of the participants sang along with a group of Cante, now finally made World Heritage (cante=Alentejo singing group).
In Caramulo, our classics had the opportunity to show off in the famous “Rampa” (Historical Hill Climb), and in Caniçada we enjoyed the essential beauty of Gerês National Park.
We ended with pomp and circumstance in Oporto, received by the Mayor and honored with a sumptuous dinner offered by our sponsor, the Symington group.
